How Ortena works

Ortena runs on a purpose-built data pipeline — not a scraper bolted onto a spreadsheet. For each of Switzerland's roughly 2,100 municipalities we go after the authoritative source: federal registers, cantonal open data, and, where nothing else exists, the Gebührenreglement the municipality publishes itself. Documents are discovered, extracted, and reviewed before a single figure goes live.

Every number on Ortena carries its source with it — which document it came from, which year it applies to, and when it was last verified. The result: tax multipliers, electricity and gas tariffs, waste, water and wastewater charges, health-premium regions, dog tax and childcare fees for every Gemeinde in Switzerland — comparable, current, and traceable back to the original document.
